Following a very successful 2016, which saw the Mbongo-Zaka and Sheba Ngwan O rapper establish herself as a rising star of SA hip-Hop. Rouge will finally release at 10am this morning her latest offering titled “No Strings” as the first single off her forthcoming album “New Era Session”, due out later this year, to be distributed by David Gresham Records. The single will be available across all digital music platforms as of Friday 17th February 2017.
Dubbed by top industry influencers as another smash-hit, Rouge chose to flip the script on this offering and give us a lady’s perspective on casual dating. Her versatility and story-telling abilities shine through as she fearlessly tacles this thought-provoking topic in a fun yet edgy fashion.
“The song is a story about someone who’s not looking for a relationship but simply looking to have a good time” she goes on to explain that “ I know a lot of us have been through this, either as the one who fell for someone who isn’t looking for a relationship or as the person not looking for anything serious .”
For “No Strings”, Rouge chose to team up with Zambian star-producer, “Mae N Maejor”, who has produced for the likes of DJ Khaled, Tinashe and Chinx to name a few. The song is provocative, hard-hitting and in true Rouge fashion, delivers on barzzz as we have come to expect from the queen of punchlines.
We expect this base-filled trap smash to take-over our airwaves and definitely become a club favourite in 2017.
