Following her long hiatus, South African Femcee is back with something that will blow your mind in 2017. Vuk Ekseni is the titled of her latest single and it bangs like hammer.
Lex LaFoy who has inked herself a recoding deal with iFani’s record label disGuiz jumps on The Nutscratchers produced beat with no fear and she killed it.
I told The Nutscratchers over the phone, after sending them the demo –The beat and song spoke to me in venac and what was especially beautiful for me, whose first language is English, is that I wrote it in isiZulu.
I didn’t translate it from English-to- isiZulu. I remembered needing to know what ‘guide’ (the verb) was, so I consulted my favourite online Zulu dictionary for the lines – ‘Amadlozi bayang’luleka, NgoThando bayang’thinta’ translated as: ‘I am guided by my elders, they touch me/communicate through love.
According to Lex LaFoy, her short break from the industry was used to gain some knowledge about her craft.
Vuk Ekseni is my second independently released single following From The Head II (2013). I spent time between learning how to take care of myself, handle my business and collaborate with amazing people.
I’ve known what it is to go without, till all I have is Self.

Another catchy element of this song is the art cover which perceives Lex as a mother striving hard to provide the needs of her daughter and this sends a signal of the hard work mothers all over the world puts in to have a life balance.
Lex also pays ode to all the hardworking mothers all over the world who keep their families in mind as they strive.
