UK based Nigerian singer Bimbi Philips is indeed raising the bar in the music industry, as his new single “It’s Bimbi” has again attracted yet another top UK disc jockey to step forward for a remix duty.
The fast rising House/Afrobeats artist who is making some serious moves towards establishing himself in the music scene both at home and abroad, has earned a remix from one of UK’s biggest DJs and London’s Kiss FM’s very on Danny Lee.
You would recall that top UK DJ TS7 had earlier done a remix version of Bimbi’s new single – “It’s Bimbi” but this time, the Nigerian singer has been blessed by Danny Lee who has worked on tracks with the likes of Rita Ora, Nico and Vinz, amongst many others.
With a deep house mix, Danny Lee did justice to Bimbi’s track and this certainly is the icing on the cake.
This track attracted over seven thousand sound cloud plays on the first day of release, and it is rumoured that Bimbi has been back and forth from Nigeria as he is working with a couple of popular Nigerian producers.
We have also heard that there are new works in the pipeline with more DJs, one of which is set to be his biggest project yet. Surprises await us.
Bimbi is one of the Nigerian artist we have seen sticking to their unique sound and style of music [House/Afrobeats] just like the likes of Timi Dakolo [soul music], Bez [soul music], Asa [Pop and Jazz], to mention a few.
We hope Bimbi doesn’t get persuaded by pressure to fall back to the usual type of music we hear like some artist have done in the past.
In the meantime, enjoy Danny Lee’s deep house mix alongside the behind the scene video to the very creative music video titled “It’s Bimbi”.
Bimbi’s new single is a blend of Afrobeats and House sound and the video was directed by Luke Biggins and UK Based production outfit MasterMind Media.
The song was produced by Gate House Music, mixed and mastered by Nigeria’s very own, Tee-Y Mix.
